Re: Father Arrested for Child Abuse

On May 24, 2012, the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office responded to Dr. Fred Brown’s Children’s Health Center, Okeechobee, Florida, in reference to allegations of an infant with bruises.

Detective Farless responded and observed a three month old female with marks on the child’s left side of the abdomen. Detective Farless immediately recognized they were in fact not typical bruises. These marks on the child were from petechial hemorrhaging. Petechial hemorrhaging is caused by excessive squeezing or pressure of the skin causing blood vessels to burst and the blood to surface. Detective Farless also observed the void areas(finger marks) left in between the petechial hemorrhages.

After interviewing both biological parents, the father, Kevin Oscar Larson was placed into custody for the offense of Child Abuse.
